Hurricane Donna sweeps Florida with winds gusting up to 175 miles per hour. Total damage from this storm was estimated to be in excess of $140 million. Sixty million dollars of this was damage to the citrus crop. Twelve people were killed, while 1000 were reported injured, and 144 of those were hospitalized.
